Tuerong Fatal Car Crash on Mornington Peninsula Freeway

Man Killed in Single Van Accident on Mornington Peninsula Freeway at Tuerong

A 49 year old man from Frankston has died in a single vehicle accident on the Mornington Peninsula Freeway early on Monday morning.

It is believed that the white van driven by the victim was being driven along the Mornington Peninsula Freeway when it veered off the road and into scrubland about 50 metres south of Range Road at Tuerong. The accident is reported to have occurred at about 4.30am Monday. The victim was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

Police are investigating the crash and a report will be prepared for the state coroner. Police have also called for anyone who witnessed the accident or has any other information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

The latest fatal accident takes the Victorian Road toll for 2010 to 59. That figure is 8 more than at the same time in 2009.
