Woman Has Skull Fractured by Wayward Golf Ball While in Taxi - Point Cook
A 38 year old woman has just been released from hospital after a freak accident on February 27 left her with a fractured skull.
The woman from Sanctuary Lakes was travelling as a front seat passenger in a taxi along Sanctuary Lakes Boulevard on Saturday 27 February at about 2am. The window of the taxi was opened and as the taxi approached Scenic Drive a golf ball came toward the vehicle, flew through the passenger window and hit the woman in the head. The force of the impact was so great that it fractured the woman's skull.
The woman presented herself at the Werribee Hospital the next day and was later taken to St Vincent's Hospital in Melbourne for further treatment.
Police have called for any witnesses or anyone who has information regarding the incident to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
