Police Arrest Two People Over Shooting in Coburg - Homes Raided in Thomastown and Bonbeach - Ozan Yusff and 33 Year Old Man Charged
Police have arrested and charged two men in relation to a shooting incident that occurred in the Melbourne suburb of Coburg on 4 January this year. In the incident, a 32 year old man was shot in the buttock in a car park of the Coburg Lake in Gaffney Street. The victim needed surgery for the gunshot wound and is still recovering.
Two search warrants were executed on Thursday morning at two properties by members of Victoria Police's Armed Crime Taskforce and the Clandestine Laboratory Squad with assistance from the Special Operations Group. The properties were located in Michelle Close, Thomastown and Nepean Highway, Bonbeach. A further search warrant was executed in Milkman Street, North Coburg around 12pm.
Police arrested Ozan Yusuf, 34 from Thomastown and he was later charged with Intentionally Cause Serious Injury, Recklessly Cause Serious Injury, firearm and drug offences including Conspiracy to Manufacture Amphetamine and Possess Article for Manufacturing a Drug of Dependence. Mr Yusuf appeared in an our of sessions court hearing on Thursday afternoon and has been remanded to appear in the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Friday.
A 33 year old man was arrested at the Bonbeach residence and was later charged with Conspiracy to Manufacture Amphetamine and Possess Article for Manufacturing a Drug of Dependence. He was bailed and is scheduled to appear in the Melbourne Magistrates' Court on the 15th March.
