Fireworks Attack on Homes in Melbourne

Live Fireworks Thrown Through Home Windows in Templestowe, Doncaster East and Donvale

Police are on the lookout for a strange but potentially deadly attack on numerous houses in Melbourne's east on Monday Night and early Tuesday morning.

Resident of a number of homes woke up to the sound of fireworks exploding inside their house. It is understood that the fireworks were thrown at widows of at least 7 homes between 11.30pm and 12.30am. Some of the fireworks have shattered the glass windows and landed inside before and going off.

Carpets have been singed and rooms damaged. But it could have been much worse. Live fireworks left unattended have the potential to cause deadly fires.

Police are investigating the crime and are looking to find the driver of a newer model silver Honda Integra who is believed to have been seen in the area.

House struck by the fireworks were in:
Ruskin Close and Kenman Close in the suburb of Templestowe
Hay Court, Regina Terrace and Woodlea Street in Doncaster East
Maroney Court in Donvale

Anyone who may have noticed a light sedan in the area or has any other information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or visit www.crimestoppers.com.au.
